Drop in on a series of performed readings, durational performance and in-conversation talks with artists featured in the book including Tess de Quincey whose chapter was a collaboration with Assoc. Prof. Ian Maxwell from The University of Sydney.

Bringing this long awaited book to life through a series of ‘performed moments’, the editors will read, converse, debate and dialogue with aritsts and audiences.

IN THEIR OWN WORDS marks the launch of The Twenty-First Century Performance Reader published by Routledge. Performing arts academics from both Leeds Beckett University and The University of Leeds will present a series of durational readings and in-conversation talks featuring Professor Richard Demarco CBE.

The Twenty-First Century Performance Reader combines extracts from over 70 international practitioners, companies, collectives and makers from the fields of Dance, Theatre, Music, Live and Performance Art, and Activism to form an essential sourcebook for students, researchers and practitioners.
